LABUAN BAJO

Labuan Bajo is one of the popular cities among tourists because of the existence of the Komodo Dragon (The Giant Lizard) which is part of the Seven Wonders of the World. This city, which is located in the western part of the island of Flores, has a lot of natural beauty that attracts people to come to visit it. One of the most amazing attractions when visiting the island of Komodo is taking pictures with Komodo dragons, this is a very coveted moment for anyone.

The existence of Komodo dragons and small islands that adorn this city has made Labuan Bajo nicknamed heaven in the world because anyone will be amazed by its natural beauty both sea and land, there are many things that can be done in this one tourist city such as hiking, snorkeling, diving. and much more. Some recommended places for climbing are Padar Island, at the top of this island visitors can enjoy three beaches with different sand namely white, pink and black sand beaches so they are perfect for taking pictures; Kelor Island with its beautiful hills so you can see the sea water and calm waves around the island; Kanawa Island has the charm of savanna hills with a million beautiful seas that can be enjoyed; Taka Makassar has a shape like a crescent moon, there is white and pink sand coming from pieces of coral reefs that have been destroyed, around this island, there are manta rays that you can see while diving, the best time to visit Taka Makassar is at sunset; Pink Beach is located in the Komodo National Park area, this place is perfect for snorkeling, it is called Pink Beach because of the color of the sand. There are many types of marine biota that adorn the sea water in this place such as seaweed, various types of coral reefs, anemones and fish. The activity you can do here is snorkeling.

RUTENG

Ruteng is known as the coldest city in Manggarai, this is because of its location at the foot of the mountain. For those of you who like adventure and are familiar with Manggarai culture, Ruteng is one of the preferred tourist destinations. Wae Rebo, a traditional village with traditional Manggarai houses, to reach this place you will walk through the forest. The journey is indeed draining because it takes several hours to get there, but if you arrive you will find the meaning of beauty and cultural values ​​that are still very authentic. Another popular destination is to visit Lingko Cara (Spider’s web rice field), where you will see the beauty of the rice fields in a different shape from any rice field outside the Manggarai area. Ruteng is indeed the most suitable place for adventurous people, Tengkulese is the highest and most beautiful waterfall. To get to this place, you have to walk through rice fields. The most unique thing for those of you who visit the city of Ruteng is to go to Liang Bua, a prehistoric site discovered in 1930. In this cave, ancient human fossils were found that were 100 cm tall and weighed an estimated 25 kg. This ancient human species was named Homo Florenensis.

ENDE

One of the reasons why tourists visit the city of Ende is the existence of Lake Kelimutu, which is known as the three-colored lake. According to local residents, each color of this lake has a different meaning with the mystical nuance that covers it. Besides Kelimutu, which is the icon of the city of Ende, there are also several natural attractions that are no less interesting, such as Mbu’u beach with its characteristic small green stones, Penggajawa beach, which has natural stairs and black sand, and many more. Ende not only has a wealth of exotic natural attractions but also places that have interesting historical and cultural values. History records that Indonesia’s first president, Ir. Soekarno Hatta had exiled himself in this city during the Dutch colonial period. LARANTUKA

Larantuka is located in the easternmost part of Flores island, has several series of islands, Lembata, Adonara, Lamakera and the island of Alor. Larantuka is known as the city of Santa Semana, which is an Easter tradition carried out for more than 500 years by the people there starting from Ash Wednesday until Good Friday where the Statue of Tuan Ma (Mother Mary) is paraded to the Cathedral Renha Rosari Larantuka accompanied by songs and candles which is lit. The existence of small islands makes Larantuka called a beautiful city. Meko Island in Adonara is a sand dune that appears in the middle of the sea, walking around this island makes a different sensation because there are almost no waves here and the sand is slightly pink, which contrasts with the turquoise color of the sea water. Beside Meko Island, there is a beautiful Oa beach that is seen in Wulanggitang, the sand is clean with a blend of sky blue sea water colors. From this beach you can watch the sunrise between the islands of Adonara and Solor; In the afternoon the scenery becomes more interesting when the sun sets behind Mount Lewotobi. So this time is the perfect chance for visitors to capture this extraordinary moment into an unforgettable portrait. Larantuka has many beautiful places to visit, Wai Plati Oka is a leading tourist attraction in East Flores besides Kelimutu and Bena village because it has its own characteristics, namely a hot air source and green mangrove forest that has natural scenery around so it can attract visitors to visit this place. BAJAWA

It is located in the highlands, Ngada Regency offers natural charm with clean and fresh air, far from typical urban pollution. Not only that, Bajawa tourism also promised with a unique and exotic natural charm. This city has several beautiful places to visit including Riung Marine Park, Ogi Waterfall, Lake Wawomudha which is one of the lakes that is quite interesting, this tourist spot was formed as a result of the eruption of mount Wawomudha; The traditional village of Belaraghi Ngada Bajawa is a tourist village that continues to maintain the traditions of their ancestors, the proof is that the houses of residents are still in traditional shape. In addition to beautiful traditional houses, tourists will also be warmly welcomed by local residents when they come to these places with traditional dishes such as bananas, sweet potatoes, and coffee. This traditional village is the most popular in Bajawa, namely Bena with its unique traditional U-shaped house building and neatly arranged. Similar to the traditional village of Belaraghi, the residents here also have good hospitality so the tourists feel at home. Beside the traditional houses, Bajawa also has a mountain with a unique characteristic that is similar to the shape of a pyramid (mountain Inerie). The shape is beautiful but this mountain is still active, the last eruption occurred in 1970. MAUMERE

Maumere is a beautiful city. There a lot of  visitors who come to this city every year both local and foreign tourist. If you get bored always be at home everyyime, it’s a good idea to go on vacation to explore eastern part of  Flores with leaving the skin exposed to the sun, breathing fresh air, looking at the blue sea will certainly throw all the burdens and tired of  busy urban routines. Kajuwulu Beach with its beauty at sunset, the place for snorkeing and diving.  Koka Beach with its fine purple sand makes people who come feel satisfied with the holiday they have. Koka is a cultural tourism village that invites visitors to get to know local wisdom with extraordinary hospitality. Visitors who come to this village will be greeted with dances and served with traditional dishes, Koka people still maintain their cultural values ​​so they are still natural. If you go home  don’t forget to bring a traditional ‘ikat’ cloth as a souvenir. Maumere cape is a popular location for diving because of its underwater beauty. If you visit here, don’t forget to capture the moment underwater, this place is the most preferred place for photographers in the world.

Besides  cultural and outdoor tourism, Maumere also offers several religious tourism sites, including the ‘Old Catholic Church of Sikka’ and the Statue of Our Lady on Nilo Hill which has a height of 28 meters, built in 2004 and it is one of the icons the city of Maumere as a spiritual city.
