A Trip From Ende to Komodo National Park 8D7N

 

Overview

Ende is one of the cities in the eastern part of Flores island. This trip starts from here to visit some interesting tourist spots and make it an unforgetable moment. Kelimutu lake is one of the super magical natural attractions, this spot is a famous spot in the city of Ende and can be said to be the icon of the city. In addition, there is the traditional village of Wologai which is about 800 years old, it is one of the extraordinary things for Ende people because they can maintain their ancestral cultural in modern times like today.

The journey continues to the city of Ruteng, here you will visit the traditional house (Mbaru Niang) Wae Rebo, a popural destination located in the eastern part of Ruteng city. Its location away from the crowds and surrounded by forest and super amazing mountain views enhances the beauty of the traditional houses in the village dubbed as the Land obove the clouds. The last stop of this trip is the Komod National Park to see Komodo dragons (ora) on the island of Komodo and visit the beautiful islands of Labuan Bajo.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Ende – Moni (L, D)

Directly lead you to restaurant for lunch after picked up from Ende airport, then go to Wologai, a traditional village inherited from the ancestors of the Ende people that is around 800 years old. The village is surrounded by hills that add to the beauty of the traditional houses that stand in a circle around the Tubu Kanga, a high courtyard that is usually used as a place for traditional rituals. Then to Moni for check in hotel.

Day 2: Moni – Kelimutu – Ende – So’a hot spring (B, L, D)

Drive to Kelimutu three color crater lake in early morning (at 04.00am) to enjoy the sunrise and amazing view of the volcano lake, after spend your time here then drive back to hotel for breakfast, continue go to Indonesian First President Museum in Ende and have lunch at Blue Stone Beach, then go to Bajawa for check in hotel. The last activity of the day is go to So’a hot spring in the late afternoon for relax your body with the warm water, back to hotel and have dinner at local restaurant in Bajawa.

Day 3: Bena village – Ranamese lake – Ruteng (B, L, D)

In the morning after breakfast, drive to Bena, an impressive traditional village in Bajawa which the shape of the house building is still in primitive style, here you can see the amazing stones formation and enjoy with local daily life. Then continue the journey to Ranamese lake, on the way take rest for a while and have lunch at local restaurant in Borong. Back drive to Ranamese lake, it is a tropical forest lake that located on the road side to Ruteng. Afterward, drive to Ruteng and directly check in hotel after arriving, in the afternoon visit Manggaraian traditional house in Ruteng Pu’u and continue to local market, then get back to hotel.

Day 4: Ruteng – Cancar (Spiderweb rice field) – Wae Rebo (B, L, D)

From hotel, drive to Cancar after breakfast to see an amazing view of spiderweb rice field, then continue the journey to Wae Rebo, on the way stop in Dintor village for lunch.  After lunch, trekking through the rain forest (about 3 hours to Wae Rebo). Wae Rebo is a traditional village with the massive view of cone shape traditional house, it is located on the south part of Central Manggarai. After arriving, you will be welcome by local people with the small ceremonial and bring you to homestay.

Day 5: Wae Rebo – Labuan Bajo (B, L, D)

Labuan Bajo is your next adventure. After breakfast, trekking back to Denge village, then continue drive to Labuan Bajo, it is the popular destination in Flores where Komodo National Park includes in the Seven Wonder of the World. Directly check in hotel after arriving in Labuan Bajo, and lead you to restaurant for dinner (at 06.00pm)

Day 6: Labuan Bajo – Manjarite – Rinca – Kalong (B, L, D)

In the morning, visit Manjarite island by local wooden boat, it is another good place for snorkeling in Komodo National Park, then continue trekking to Rinca island, the place where Komodo dragon lives. And the last go to Kalong island, the place to see a thousand flying foxs (bats fruit) which coming out from mangrove tree, and the boat stays overnight here.

Day 7: Padar – Komodo island – Pink beach – Taka makassar – Manta Point – Gili Lawa (B, L, D)

In early morning, the boat is heading to Padar, the place for hiking with the amazing view from the top of island, then to Komodo island, it is another good place for Komodo dragon to live. Continue go to Pink beach for snorkeling or enjoy your time at the beach. Afterward, the boat heading to Manta Point, all you can do here is snorkeling with giant manta rays. Late afternoon move to Gili Lawa, the good place for hiking with the beautiful sunset view from the top of island.

Day 8: Sebayur – Kanawa – Labuan Bajo (B, L)

From Gili Lawa, the boat is heading to Sebayur, another snorkeling place with the beautiful view underwater, then continue snorkeling at Kanawa with the amazing beach view. After all activities have done then the boat sailing back to Labuan Bajo and directly drop you to hotel. The trip is ending here..
